Cancellation insurance booked trough Yoonly
The cancellation insurance is a standard cancellation insurance, commonly offered when booking a trip.
PLEASE NOTE! This insurance is a different travel insurance than the one sold last winter season (2022-2023), so be sure to read your policy carefully!
When you book cancellation insurance, you are entitled to a refund equivalent to the applicable cancellation fees, minus the cost of the insurance(s) you have booked. This means you essentially have a cost-free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure if you cancel for a reason covered by the insurance policy and you can provide the necessary documentation to the insurance company.
If you have the proper documentation for your reason for cancellation, you will receive a refund. If not, you are not eligible for a refund.

Please note: You must cancel your booking before the trip's departure date. The insurance does not accept cancellations that are not reported before the departure date.

The method of reimbursement depends on the justification for the cancellation reason:
With valid documentation: You will be reimbursed after deducting the cost of the booked insurance and any deductible. See the policy conditions for details.
Without valid documentation: NO refund!
The deductible is the portion of the damage you must bear yourself after an event. The insurer covers the balance on top of the deductible.
Please note that any attested reasons for cancellation must be proven with documentation stating that you will not be able to travel during the booked period. Below is an elaborated example along with some other valid listings.
For a full list of valid reasons, check the Policy Conditions of the Assurinco insurance company. Be aware that you need to inform the insurance and Yoonly as soon as possible after becoming aware of your cancellation reason.
Resits: If you need to cancel your booking due to a resit exam/test, it is not enough to report that you couldn't travel due to schoolwork. You will need to provide proof (e.g., a confirmation email/attestation) to receive a refund.
Illness -> doctor's note
Accident, injury -> doctor's note
Competition at a top sports level (elite sports status) -> certificate from the sports club/trainer/federation
Death in the immediate family -> death certificate
